The History
Florence Manwaring began a small chocolate company in Rexburg, ID 32 years ago on Valentine’s Day. It seemed suitable to name it after herself since it was her famous candy. She never thought that her small business would grow and start sending chocolates around the world to missionaries, loved ones, and those in the military. After millions of chocolates made, her son Brian along with 10 workers keep up with daily demand for these Exquisite Chocolates.

A Dying Art
Chocolate making is a dying art form, especially in the USA. As a staple in Rexburg, ID, I wanted to create a mini-documentary highlighting Florence’s Chocolates and her passion passion for her workers, family and chocolate.
One Man Band
The documentary was assigned as a solo class project, and because of that, it was up to me to not only shoot video, but also record audio and edit the final film. I asked Florence a number of questions that helped her open up to some very tender feelings about her company. You really can’t plan what someone will say when they are speaking from the heart, but I am glad that I had the opportunity to capture these candid emotions for generations to come.
